Wayne Couturas

Wayne grew up in Westport, Connecticut and currently resides on the Connecticut shoreline. He is a Certified Recovery Coach (CCAR) and case manager who brings personal recovery experience as well as professional training to his clients. Wayne’s journey into sobriety began in 1989. Through abstinence and support, Wayne remained sober for 17 years, following a program. He then experienced relapse during a stressful time in his life, where he began to drift from the program. His relapse began a six month struggle to obtain sobriety and reconnect with the recovery community that was once so important. Since that time 13 years ago, Wayne has maintained continuous abstinence and sobriety. Wayne’s personal experience with recovery, relapse, struggle and success gives him a deep understanding of the importance of support. 

 

Over the past eight years, Wayne has worked with individuals needing support as well as family members and loved ones of those with substance use disorders. His approach is to meet the client where they are at, and build from there; tailoring a program of recovery based on the client’s lifestyle and needs. In addition to Recovery Coaching and Case Management, Wayne offers Family Education and Support through a six part educational series that brings better understanding of a person with a substance use disorder as it relates to the family relationship. 

 

Wayne offers sober travel support, sober companion services, transportation to/from detox, rehabs, sober living and home. He offers his services throughout the United States, wherever and whenever he is needed.
